“I built TimeTrove because too many people are left trying to piece together someone’s life from fragments. Too many stories are lost because no one knew where they were, what they meant, or who they were meant for. And too many people put off recording the things they would want to say because there has never been a way to do it.”

More than thirty people in my life have died. Many died suddenly, but even having warning didn't mean any of them were sufficiently prepared. Again and again, I saw the same pattern: families left second-guessing wishes, fallouts, digital chaos, inaccessible accounts, locked devices, memories lost and private content exposed.

I also saw how precious the small things became: a text, a voice note, the story behind a photograph or the sound of their laugh. And how painful it was when those disappeared too. <whiteText>I call that the secondary loss.</whiteText>

But I realised the solution shouldn't start with death. <whiteText>It's actually all about life.</whiteText>

We're capturing more of our lives than ever, yet the things that really matter are buried amongst thousands of files or shared through platforms designed for sharing at the time, often with the masses.

There was nowhere to intentionally collect the best bits of life as it happens; to return to and enjoy while we're here and control what stays private, what is shared, with whom and when, <whiteText>in life, death and beyond.</whiteText>

A place people have a reason to keep coming back to throughout their lives, while making sure what matters isn't lost later.

We spend our lives preparing for almost everything... except the day we're no longer here.

It started with a phone full of photos, voice notes, old videos and memories that were easy to keep but hard to find again.

Over time, those moments were added to TimeTrove with a little context around them. The story behind a photograph. A voice worth hearing again. A memory that only one person in the family knew properly. Alongside them came messages, wishes and a few practical things that would be useful to have in one place.

There was no need to organise everything at once. It simply became somewhere to return to, adding things as life happened.

TimeTrove became a way to keep more than files. It kept the stories around them too, so the people who matter would understand why they mattered.
